Mongolian Visas


Visa is required for all Canadian travelers to Mongolia. You can apply for the Mongolian visa in person or by mail to the Embassy of Mongolia in Ottawa. (See Honorary Consuls)

To apply for the visa please make sure to bring along or send the following:

• Your valid passport (it must be at least 6 months valid on the date of entry to Mongolia)
• Completed Application form (Download an approprite visa form below )
• A recent passport size photo
• Supporting letter from your company/organization and/or counterparts in Mongolia.
  
  These could be:
  1. Either an invitation of the receiving entity (state, government, non-governmental organization, business entity) or an official request of the sending organization or company.
  2. For tourists, a letter of invitation from a travel agency.
  3. If you are traveling on a personal invitation of a citizen of Mongolia, an invitation approved by the Civil Registration and Information Center of Mongolia, and applicant's written statement concerning his/her financial credibility to cover his/her stay in Mongolia. For those passing Mongolia in transit, onward ticket and visa for next destination is required.
  4. For those passing Mongolia in transit, onward ticket and visa for next destination is required.
     
     
• The visa fee is $ 80.00 in Canadian funds. 24 hour rush service fee is 160 canadian dollars. Payments are accepted only
  in certified cheque or money order payable to the Embassy of Mongolia. NO
  CASH IS ACCEPTED. If you send cash, visas will not be issued.

• Self-addressed and pre-paid return envelope of your preferred courier
  if you apply for visas by mail.

IMPORTANT NOTICE!

• Visa request for more than 30 days is issued with a permit from the Office of Naturalization and Immigration Services, Mongolia
• Single entry/exit and transit visas are valid for entry within 90 days from the date of issuance. When you enter Mongolia, the duration days are numbered
• Those who stay in Mongolia over 31 days are required to be registered at the Office of Naturalization and Immigration Services within 7 days upon their arrival. Please contact the persons/organizations who invited you to Mongolia on this matter
